Quietly, running back Jordan Howard is having another Pro Bowl season. The second-year veteran out of Indiana is currently third in the NFL in rushing with 841 yards. As a team, the Bears have the fifth-most productive running game in the league (131.8 yards per game). This week, Howard will be spearheading Chicago’s ground attack against a top-ranked Eagles run defense that is surrendering an average of only 71.0 yards per game. Philadelphia hasn’t allowed a 100-yard rusher so far this season. The closest to get to the century mark was Dallas Cowboys running back Alfred Morris with 91 yards in Week 11—and most of that came in garbage time. The Bears’ running game is the one thing that makes their offense go. If they can’t be productive on the ground, then much pressure will be put on the passing game.
