Ten Potential Head Coach Replacements for John Fox

10. Jon Gruden, ESPN

He’s a name that gets brought up constantly, largely because he refuses to shut the door on coaching and probably likes getting his name involved and being courted by teams. Despite the long odds, Jon Gruden has to be considered. He’s only 54-years old, he won a Super Bowl with Brad Johnson and he has that “quarterback whisperer” title that the Bears need to mentor Mitch Trubisky.

Gruden has spoken highly of Trubisky multiple times. That being said, Gruden speaks highly of a lot of people, but if he thinks Trubisky is going to be something special, coming to Chicago might be something he would consider.

Gruden has three kids, the youngest will be a senior in high school next year, so the downtime that broadcasting has provided him to spend time with his family will be waning with his kids getting older. The odds of this hire are remote, but he’s a name that the Bears will kick around at a minimum.

Odds on being next head coach: 500 to 1
