The Los Angeles Rams have quickly become one of the best stories in the NFL, and why not? Their offense was anemic last year under Jeff Fisher and when Jared Goff played, he looked lost. Now, under new head coach Sean McVay, the Rams are atop the NFC West with one of the best offenses in the league.

McVay was the Redskins offensive coordinator before this and received a lot of credit for the development of Kirk Cousins. When he took the head coaching job in Los Angeles, he hired LaFleur away from the Atlanta Falcons (he was their quarterback coach), and named him the offensive coordinator.

LaFleur’s biggest issue is his experience. He helped Matt Ryan have a career year in Atlanta and is now part of a fantastic offense in Los Angeles, but he’s young, with only one year of experience as a coordinator and has never been higher than quarterbacks coach anywhere else (except one year as the OC at Ashland in 2007, yes, Adam Shaheen’s school).

Would Pace want a potentially young dynamic coach that could ignite Trubisky and the offense? The idea seems great, but with the lack of experience, it’s also something that could backfire and Pace can’t afford another bust of a head coach.

Odds on being the next head coach: 15 to 1
