Last week was the best game of the season for Mitchell Trubisky. Can he keep the momentum going?

There is no way around it, last week was a career game for the young gunslinger Mitchell Trubisky. Trubisky threw 32 attempts and completed 78 percent of his passes. In the four other games in which he threw at least 30 passes, his best completion percentage was 60. He did that twice, also completing 52-percent and 44-percent in the other two. It was his second best game in yards, adjusted yards per attempt and quarterback rating. Considering the best games in all of those stats are separate games, this was the complete, and best game of his career.

It can be argued the defense, the situation and the health of the Bengals played a huge role in the success of Trubisky. At the same time, he is showing skills he did not show earlier in the year. On Saturday Trubisky goes against a pass defense playing for something. The Lions are right in the thick of the playoff hunt.

Trubisky has played this defense before and has had success. If he can learn from that start, and branch off of it, he could be in line for a nice day. It would be an impressive feat to take on the Lions and have success, and string together multiple good games. This will be a good bar to see where he is right now. The arrow is pointing up on Mitchell Trubisky, and it could only be getting higher as we get closer to the end of the year.
