Of the Bears’ 10 losses this year, seven of those games have been decided by 10 or less points. One of the main contributors to these close defeats have been penalties, and it was very apparent in Week 15. Chicago committed 13 penalties in last week’s 10-point loss, and all three phases were guilty of crucial infractions. As easy a game this may appear to be on paper for the Bears, it can easily slip away if they continue to shoot themselves in the foot with costly penalties.
