Chicago Bears Injury Report: Week 16 Friday

BALTIMORE, MD - OCTOBER 15: Tight End Dion Sims
BALTIMORE, MD - OCTOBER 15: Tight End Dion Sims

What does the Chicago Bears injury report look on Friday before their Week 16 match with the Cleveland Browns?

No, this game does not mean much. Still, it will be nice for some of the younger players progress in a situation where they should win. There also may be some positioning on the depth chart as well over the next two games making it worthwhile.

So who is looking to get into the lineup and who may not be ready to go? We look to the Friday injury report as the most telling indicator of game status.

Adrian Amos was not listed on the injury report again and is a full go for Sunday. This is one of the situations where it is good to see him get back on the field as he tries to win the strong safety job for 2018. Josh Bellamy and Sherrick McManis can say the same with their injury designations. Bellamy being back could mean that we will not see Markus Wheaton run another route in a Bears jersey.

Chris Prosinski, Tom Compton, and Adam Shaheen were limited and are questionable. With Amos back, the Bears have no reason to even make Prosinski active on Sunday. His status does not matter.

While it would be nice to see Shaheen back, it is tough to see them pushing the rookie with limited practice participation. Expect another game on the sidelines and a chance to see what he can do in a full workload Week 17.

As for Tom Compton, his situation is interesting because it is tied into Josh Sitton, who is doubtful. With nothing to play for it would be stunning if Sitton played. This means it is imperative Compton gets back on the field. Time will tell if he is able to, but he is most likely to suit up of these four.
