Without official word from the Chicago Bears, you can expect that Josh Sitton will be out on Sunday

When the 4-10 Chicago Bears host the 0-14 Cleveland Browns in a game with little on the line. Few will show up, and few will tune in. With that said, why in the world would Josh Sitton play on Sunday?

Sitton is doubtful on Sunday with an ankle injury. He has been on the injury report for a few weeks now. Sitton is 31 now, and with a lost season, having him need offseason surgery because he pushed it a bit too much to play against the Browns would be ludacris.

On top of that, they are getting a depth name back on the offensive line. Tom Compton is listed as questionable, but it is a better sign that he will play than Sitton.

It hurts to hear that the team will play the Browns with Tom Compton and Bradley Sowell starting at both guard spots. Still, it would be smarter to rush Compton back than Sitton.

At the end of the day, Sitton may end up in the Injured Reserve with the team being able to add an offensive lineman from the practice squad. It is not like Week 17 is a big deal either and they would need the depth.

Keeping him active would be a good sign that he will play in Week 17, and that would be a good sign for Mitchell Trubisky, who needs all the help he can get.

At the end of the day, the smart move is to assume Sitton will be out.
