Pro Bowl Snub-O-Meter: Tarik Cohen
Was Tarik Cohen a Pro Bowl snub? We examine.
Tarik Cohen’s flashy, Barry Sanders-like running style quickly made him a fan favorite of Chicago Bears fans. Cohen is quick, athletic and is a home run threat on every play. When Pro Bowl announcements were made, Cohen was one of the Bears’ names that surfaced as a snub. But is Tarik Cohen a snub? Let’s take a look.

First of all, as fun as Cohen is as a running back, those numbers can’t even sniff a Pro Bowl. Cohen has less than 700 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns. He did throw a touchdown pass, but that certainly isn’t enough to get the job done.
But Cohen was named a Pro Bowl alternate but was done so as a returner. But is Cohen even worthy of that selection? Cohen is fifth in punt return yards and seventh in average. He does have the ridiculous punt return against the San Francisco 49ers, but again, one flashy play on special teams isn’t enough.
As a kick returner, only seven players qualified for kick return average in the NFC and Cohen is second to last at 22.4. Honestly, as a returner, Pharoah Cooper of the LA Rams, Ryan Switzer of the Dallas Cowboys and Trevor Davis of the Green Bay Packers are all more deserving returners than Cohen.
Cohen has a bright future and with the right coaching staff, they will learn to far better utilize Cohen than this current one, but to call Tarik Cohen a Pro Bowl snub at this point is silly.
