Chicago Bears to interview John DeFilippo

The Chicago Bears are planning to interview Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo
The Chicago Bears coaching search is heating up and the team is planning to sort through a lot of names. As the names come out, we will present and give our opinion. During his bye week with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Chicago Bears plan to interview their quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo.
Bears are setting up an interview with Eagles QB coach John DeFilippo for later this week, sources tell me and @RapSheet. His work with Carson Wentz has made him a legit candidate.

DeFilippo would be an excellent choice. He is young and innovative and has had success at every turn. During his time in Oakland, he was apart of the team that drafted Derek Carr in the second round. In his one season as an offensive coordinator, he created one of the most successful offenses in Cleveland Browns history. The offense actually tapered off the following season when Kyle Shanahan took over.

From there, he has been with Carson Wentz for two seasons making magic. A lot of people give Frank Reich the credit, but DeFilippo deserves just as a much if not more. DeFilippo also has the better track record in his past than Reich. It seems like Reich is the eye candy when DeFilippo is the real meat and potatoes of the surge from Wentz. That is why it should not be surprising the Bears are interested.
This may not be the sexy hire, but this could be the best hire for where the team is right now. He is clearly going to come in with a plan for Mitchell Trubisky, and if he can be open minded on defense, he could stick around for a long time.
