Jarvis Landry, is the belle of the ball, here are the interesting Free Agent options for the Bears at WR.

The 2017 season is over, Matt Nagy is the new head coach, and Ryan Pace got his extension. Now the real work begins, adding talent to this Bears roster. With a weak WR draft this year, lets look at the WR free agent class this year, the Bears biggest need.

WR Options

Jarvis Landry:

Landry is a 25 year old UFA from the Miami Dolphins. He is the best receiver in this class period. He has just begun his prime, and had nine touchdowns this past year with Jay Cutler under center. He led the league in receptions this year with 112. Landry would fill the Tyrek Hill role in Matt Nagy’s offense. Signing Landry to a long term deal could be Pace’s offseason home run.

Marqise Lee:

Lee has been really solid the past two years in Jacksonville, with below average quarterback play. The former second round pick in 2014, Lee wouldn’t be your number number one wide receiver, he would be a solid number two. Signing Lee would upgrade your WR’s instantly without breaking the bank like you’d do for Landry. If you cannot get Landry, getting Lee would be a great backup plan.

Eric Decker:

Decker is the veteran worth taking a flyer on. He was healthy all year for the Titans, and had 54 receptions. Decker would be a piece, not a solution. The Bears need depth and talent at the WR position, and he could add that. A two-year deal, would be the max I’d offer Decker.

Bears own FA wider receivers

The Bears have thee WR’s who are FA, Bellamy, Wright, and Inman. All three players are 28 years old, and all have been inconsistent and injury prone. Of the 3 Inman is the one I would choose to bring back. Inman’s elite size 6’3, 205lbs, combined with his experience and affordability, makes him worth it.

Competition is key to having a successful position group. In my opinion add Landry, and resigning Inman would be a big win for Ryan Pace this offseason.
