It did not take long. On his first try at the process, Brian Urlacher was elected into the NFL Hall of Fame

Heading into the process, it had appeared close to a 50/50 proposition as to whether or not Brian Urlacher would be a first ballot Hall Of Famer. Do not get it wrong, Urlacher was going to be inducted, much sooner than later. Still, in a loaded class, it was a legitimate question as  to whether or not Brian Urlacher would be elected as a first ballot Hall of Famer. The questions were answered on Saturday night, and it turned out to be great news for the Chicago Bears linebacker, Brian Urlacher.

It is obviously an honor to be elected to the Hall of Fame, whether it be in year one or twenty. Still, the addition of not only being a Hall of Fame player, but a first ballot Hall of Fame NFL player, is a sweet feeling. You can bet that it is a little bit more meaningful for Urlacher now.

More from Bear Goggles On

Brian Urlacher had a tremendous career in Chicago, spending it with the Bears from day one through the end of his career. Overall, Urlacher played in 182 regular season games and seven playoff games. He finished with 1,354 yards and 41.5 sacks over his career.

Urlacher changed the way the middle linebacker position was played. In a year where Ray Lewis was elected to the NFL Hall of Fame on his first try, it is nice to see the committee notice Brian Urlacher as well.
