Pro Comparison

Danielle Hunter, Minnesota Vikings

Danielle Hunter made it to LSU based on his athleticism. He made it into the NFL based on his athleticism. However, Hunter fell to the third round of the 2014 NFL draft because despite all of the traits, and all of the sizes and dimensions needed to play in the NFL, he was not technically refined.

Hunter was placed in a good situation, though. He spent his first two seasons as a rotational pass rusher. He feasted in that role. That is what is needed to be expected of Marcus Davenport early. He may not be seeing the field on every single play, but when he is, he is making an impact.

Hunter has been waiting for a breakout season, and while he has put up huge numbers, he has yet to turn into an elite impact player. That is not to say that he or Davenport cannot. More to say that it will take time, patience and the right situation for Davenport and his talents to come to fruition.
