As the free agency rumor mill picks up, Kansas City Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach said he expects the Chicago Bears to sign Albert Wilson

We all know the tampering rules in the NFL are consistently broken. The minute the new league year starts contracts are already signed and there is way too much language to assume these teams met and got the deal laid out and done within seconds.

However, most of the NFL does a good job of not letting some of the “wink-wink” deals get through to the masses. It helps the NFL maintain their ruling over tampering and gives the fans a specific date to look forward to following.

Unfortunately for the Chicago Bears, one of their plans may have been let out of the bag a week or so early.

Kansas City Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach was asked about impending Free Agent Albert Wilson and his status with the team. His answer?

"“Well, Matt’s in Chicago.”"

Matt, of course is Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy. Veach just so happens to be an old college friend of Matt Nagy, so to say he has an understanding of the situation would be an understatement.

It seems clear as though the Chiefs are working under the impression that Albert Wilson will be gone and will be reunited with Matt Nagy in Chicago.

This move makes a ton of sense. The Chicago Bears need wide receivers in the worst way. Albert Wilson can play outside and in the slot. He knows the schemes and tendencies that Matt Nagy is looking for, and can play a very similar role to what he just played. On top of that, the Bears are going to have much more cap space at this juncture than the Chiefs.

While it cannot be reported official yet, do not be surprised when the Chicago Bears are the first team making noise as they ink Albert Wilson within seconds.
