The Chicago Bears did not seem to have strong interest in bringing back Kendall Wright. The one-year Bear found himself on the Minnesota Vikings roster
Last season Kendall Wright was the Chicago Bears best wide receiver. This season, he is going to play for a division rival. Kendall Wright agreed to terms with the Minnesota Vikings
Vikings are signing WR Kendall Wright, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. Had 59 catches for the Bears last year, now heads to their NFC North rival as a target for Kirk Cousins.

The Bears apparently were never really interested in bringing back Wright. There was never buzz about bringing him back pre-free agency. In free agency, the team was quick to sign Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel. They were even invested in Albert Wilson. There was no sign of Wright.

It is interesting to not have any interest at all in a player who lead the team in receiving last year. However, Wright leading the team in receiving is not necessarily saying much.
With the coaching change in Matt Nagy, he clearly was just looking in a completely different direction from Wright. That happens. As mentioned, Wright is not a huge loss in the grand scheme of things.
However, where he went does hurt. The Minnesota Vikings are ready to win a Super Bowl. Wright may not be a great fit in the Matt Nagy offense, but he is a solid depth wide receiver option. With Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs and adding in some depth of Laquan Treadwell, this is a loaded group. Wright as a leading receiver is a nobody. Starting between Diggs and Thielen and he is becomes an impact player. The Vikings are going to be a tough out next season, there is no doubt about that.
