After some rumors and other nonsense emerged, Matt Nagy finally put an end to the questions about Jordan Howard
Jordan Howard took down a bunch of pictures on Instagram. That combined with Matt Nagy saying that he wants to be more pass happy and involve Tarik Cohen more has some saying that the team was looking to trade Jordan Howard. You know how rumors get started. Anyways, this one caught wild fire up to Howards agent, who had to assure Howard he was not being traded. Nagy addressed the matter today.
Tarik Cohen is a lethal running back because of what he can do in the passing game. However, his presence does not get rid of Howard in the least. Even if Howard is not a strong pass catching option, he is still an option in the offense. Cohen cannot run between the tackles and in terms of vision to get to the second level, Howard trumps Cohen with ease.
When it comes to winding down games and goal line rushing attempts, Howard is the man. Howard gets his team ahead of the sticks on early downs and controls the clock.

Cohen needs a bigger role and will get a bigger role. However, he will catch a lot more passes. The team just lost Cameron Meredith, and even wit Taylor Gabriel, there is a way to blend the skill set of the two to make it work.
It seems surprising that many thought Howard would be traded, and we tried to put a towel on the fire from the start. However, it is good to hear that as the offseason pushes on, this will become a non-story.
