Therefore the Chicago Bears are still walking out of the 2018 NFL draft with seven selections. The team has also considered trading down, and finding a way to get back into the third round. They could move down from eight to anywhere above 15 and pick up at least a third round pick in consolation.
The Bears may be willing to trade up, if the timing is right, but overall, the best methodology is to use as many shots as you can to get it right. The NFL draft is essentially a guessing game. Having higher margins for error is almost as good as amassing higher picks.
