Here are Nyles Morgan highlights

Morgan did not get an invite to the NFL combine. Morgan was a top 50 recruit coming out of high school, but never really saw it come together while at Notre Dame.

Here are his stats.

In the last two years he was able to get on the field and produce some for Notre Dame. However, as you can see, he was not a major impact player.

NFL.com described Nyles Morgan as:

"Two-year starter and 2017 team captain who plays with good energy but lacks the playmaking, athletic traits that teams look for from linebackers. His road to an NFL roster will likely need to be paved on special teams."

Nyles Morgan was a team captain. He was known as a hustle player. Add in the profile of being a top recruit coming out of high school and you can see why Ryan Pace and company are interested. Maybe the light didn’t click at Notre Dame. Maybe he still has some of the talent that college evaluators saw from him coming out of high school. Maybe the Bears can get that spark.

However, while they try to mine it out of him, they do know that he can provide on special teams. This gives him a base floor. He can compete for a roster spot, and will likely be one of the players who does stick around, and makes the practice squad in year one.
