The Chicago Bears signed Undrafted Free Agent Rashard Fant, a cornerback from Indiana
The Chicago Bears expected to add a slot cornerback at some point in this process. Bryce Callahan is only signed for one season. This did not break their way in the draft, but they did sign Michael Joseph and Kevin Toliver as well as pure slot cornerback Rashard Fant from Indiana.
How do I know Fant is purely a slot corner? The same reason why I understand he can go undrafted. He is small.

"Fant is a tale of two cornerbacks on the field. He’s small but confident and aggressive as a playmaker allowing his instincts, burst, and aggressiveness to thwart the competition across from him. His size isn’t optimal, but he’s a very good athlete with the tools to handle coverage responsibilities from the slot. As a tackler, he lacks play strength and commitment and teams found success running to his side. Fant’s ball skills make him hard to ignore, but his lack of size and strength will limit the number of teams who consider him."
It sounds like he is a poor mans Avonte Maddox, who is a player we profiled for Chicago, but was drafted in the fifth round.

It is also very clear that he has ball skills. He fell in the draft, we know why. His size. His size is limiting his interception totals. You can see below, his stats are deflated due to his size.
However, in terms of actual ball skills, he has a chance. He is a player who can fight with Cre’Von LeBlanc for a roster spot, but at the worst is a player worth looking into and absolutely trying to stash on the practice squad.
