The two Chicago Bears draft picks at inside linebacker, Roquan Smith and Joel Iyiegbuniwe have spent their first days together as teammates bonding

They may not be talked about on ESPN every day or brought up during the regular season, but rookie mini-camps absolutely go a long way into a  players progression with their particular team.

It is where rookies draft picks and free agents are able to lay their foundation, gain relationships and begin their journey to making an NFL team.

This is a great learning experience, and one that Roquan Smith and Joel Iyiegbuniwe will be going through together as not only draft classmates, but also players who will share a meeting room.

The Chicago Bears two inside linebacker prospects have been rooming together at camp and have been pushing each other along.

This is what you want to hear from rookie minicamp. Roquan Smith is not concerned by a team taking his same position three picks later. He knows Iyiegbuniwe is his teammate, not his competition.

So, as teammates, these two are looking to grow off of each other and become better players. If Smith has a question, he feels comfortable turning to Iggy. If Iggy has a question, he knows he is going to Roquan Smith.

It is also key for the two to get to know each other. While Iyiegbuniwe is not going to start next season, injuries happen and Danny Trevathan is not getting younger. The more chemistry the two young linebackers have moving forward the better.

Iyiegbuniwe and Smith are both known for their high intellect and strong processing speed. To have these two seeing things on the same page and bouncing ideas off of each other should be a great start to their careers.
