Matt Nagy and Mitchell Trubisky helped sell Free Agents on the Chicago Bears. Taylor Gabriel, Allen Robinson, and Trey Burton all cited Nagy’s scheme

Matt Nagy may not be the flashy Jon Gruden hire in Oakland, however, his tenure is likely going to end better. It seems as though many in league circles completely understand that idea as well.

Matt Nagy is very well thought of. Andy Reid brings up great coaches, and he is higher on Nagy than any others.

League insiders know that coaches and General Managers know that apparently, the players understand as well.

Dan Pompei of the Athletic mentioned that the Matt Nagy offense specifically enticed Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel and Trey Burton.

"Nagy and Trubisky helped sell the Bears the way a fresh coat of paint and high-end landscaping can help sell a house. Robinson, Burton and wide receiver Taylor Gabriel cited Nagy’s scheme as a reason they were interested in the Bears"

This makes all of the sense in the world. The fact of the matter is that Allen Robinson was the teams top priority as a free agent. They were going to put all their chips into Robinson.

Matt Nagy was going to show and tell Robinson how he was going to be the pulse of the offense. Nagy showed Robinson that next year is going to revolve through him. Of course, he liked it.

Nagy likely showed Taylor Gabriel how easy it will be to get the ball in Gabriel’s hands. Nagy is a master in the screen game, and Gabriel is better with the ball in his hands than he is down the field. Think of Gabriel stepping into the Albert Wilson role of his offense last season.

Then, there is Trey Burton. Ryan Pace mentioned that the first thing Matt Nagy talked about needing was a “U” tight end. Nagy talked about the importance of it in his first discussions with the media.

Nagy has a clear vision for Trey Burton at tight end. Being a third tight end and having a newly hired head coach so enthusiastic about you has to almost be overwhelming.

It is easy to see why these players were so drawn to Nagy. Now, it will be time to see them implemented properly.
