In our final part of the Anthony Miller season breakdown, Anthony Miller plays his bowl game against Iowa State

It has been a long journey to get here, but overall a much more clear picture has been painted about what type of player Anthony Miller is. In our nine previous parts we looked into everything from how often he lined up in the slot, outside, and also as a pseudo tight end.

We broke down the routes he ran, debated the drops he had and the contested catches he made. How did he put the bow an outstanding season against Iowa State?

Bowl Game

It was not the game that caused his draft stock to soar anywhere, that is for sure. Anthony Miller has about an average to below average game for Miller’s standards. On seven pass attempts he caught four passes for 55 yards and a touchdown.

Of course, it would not be an average Anthony Miller game with at least one drop that should have almost certainly been a catch. However, the other two passes were uncatchable.

It also would not be an Anthony Miller game without yards after the catch action. It was below average overall for his yards after the catch he still had 27 yards after the catch.

He caught a screen pass that resulted in a one-yard loss. His other catches were the plays below. A post over the middle with some yards after the catch. The post was Miller’s most efficient route in 2017.

And he finished it off with a strong route to create separation down the field. Of course, he followed it up with balance down the sideline. He only had one highlight for each category, but the entire arsenal was on display in his last game.
