6. NFC East: Giants, Eagles, Cowboys, Washington

The Super Bowl champions in the sixth best division in football can show that depth certainly applies to this ranking system. The Eagles will enter the year number one in all power rankings, and deservedly so. However, their division mates have questions.

The New York Giants added a running back. However, it is fair to say their defense is worse than last season and there are questions as to how much better their offensive line got. They were picking second overall last season, how much does Saquon Barkley really give them?

Washington swapped out Kirk Cousins with Alex Smith. The question is whether or not that is an upgrade. Opinions vary, but the real question is whether or not this is the best fit for Alex Smith talent wise. With Josh Doctson and Paul Richardson on the outside, they have two jump ballplayers with a quarterback who does not throw the jump ball often. The defense did add some pieces, but this seems to be a team stuck in the middle.

The Cowboys lost Dez Bryant and are looking to replace him with Michael Gallup, Allen Hurns, and Cedrick Wilson. It could pay off, but with an aging Jason Witten, the skill players are questionable. On top of that, the team added a Sean Lee insurance policy, which does help because Sean Lee is constantly injured. However, there is a question as to how high the ceiling of this unit can be no matter who is healthy.
