2018 Fantasy Projections: WR Kevin White

CHICAGO, IL - OCTOBER 02: Kevin White
CHICAGO, IL - OCTOBER 02: Kevin White

What can Fantasy Football owners expect from Kevin White in 2018?

Three years. Five games.

Kevin White was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the first round of the 2015 draft. He was the first selection ever by GM Ryan Pace and was the pick to signal a new era of Bears’ football. After struggling to get on the field in the preseason, White was declared out all of his rookie season. Ouch.

2016 was a fresh year and one where the Bears expected big things from White. After three uninspiring games, White was injured in his fourth game and missed the rest of the season.

In 2017 some Bears’ fans still held out hope, but in his first game of the season, surprise, surprise, an injury knocked White out for the season.

Three years. Five games.

White enters the final year of his rookie contract and at this point, except for a few hopeful Bears’ fans, everyone assumes the ship has sailed on White, but if you listen to Bears coaches, they still think he has a chance to make an impact.

White’s biggest problem now is opportunity. Allen Robinson will get more targets. Trey Burton will get more targets. Taylor Gabriel will get more targets. Tarik Cohen will get more targets. White finds himself in competition for the fifth most target Bear receiver and odds are Anthony Miller and Adam Shaheen will jump him in targets as well. If he’s seventh on the team in targets, he’s useless to you as a fantasy owner.

White is a sad tale for sure, but fantasy isn’t about sympathy picks. You want to win. Don’t even consider Kevin White. He’s going to have to prove he can stay on the field and be productive on the field before you can even consider picking him up off the waiver wire. I don’t care how deep your fantasy draft is, White cannot be considered under any circumstance.
