Bleacher Report listed the Chicago Bears wide receiver group as the teams biggest flaw. They must not have looked at the Chicago Bears edge rusher group
It is always fun to see some of the national writers try to hit close to home with pieces that cover all 32 teams. It is a tough job, no doubt. Writers are left making assumptions about a situation they may not pay attention to every day, while a blog like us puts every last piece of information under the microscope. Nothing can speak more to this process than Bleacher Reports latest list.
They listed the biggest flaw for every NFL team. It is what they described as the pressing issue on the team that will potentially come back to bite them this season. For the Chicago Bears, they chose wide receiver. The explanation:
"The Chicago Bears took a number of steps to address the proverbial elephant in the room for the team—said pachyderm being the Bears’ mess at the wide receiver position. The problem is that we can’t be sure the overhaul will take"
It is fair that the Chicago Bears wide receivers are much more impressive on paper than they are on the field. However, there is no chance that this is the teams “fatal flaw.”

The Chicago Bears fatal flaw on their roster is quite glaring. It is their edge rusher help. Yes, you can argue that Leonard Floyd has more upside than any wide receiver on the roster, Allen Robinson included. Still, at the same time Allen Robinson has done more in his career to date than Leonard Floyd.
From there, the depth gives wide receivers an unquestionable edge over edge rusher. Aaron Lynch is expected to potentially make a difference on the edge. This is a player who has dressed for just 14 games over the past two seasons. In that span he has 2.5 sacks.
Sam Acho provides solid depth but is truly nothing more than that. From there, Kylie Fitts and Isaiah Irving. Fitts is a sixth round pick, Irving a UDFA. Both have injury track records and different reasons for falling to their respective places in the NFL draft.
So yes, Taylor Gabriel has some questions. Robinson is coming off of an injury and Kevin White is always hurt. Anthony Miller is a rookie and there is a recipe for disaster in this group.
However, this group stands head and shoulders over the edge rushers in terms of being a potential flaw that bites them.
