New Madden ratings were released for some rookie players. Chicago Bears WR was a top 5 rookie receiver

Madden has been releasing their updated Madden ratings for the upcoming release. Recently, the listed out the top five rookie wide receivers. Anthony Miller made the cut, coming in as the fifth rated wide receiver this season. He was rated 74 overall.

The site mentions Miller having an 82 rating on short routes, and an 80 on intermediate routes. However, he has an 80 for catching, which is fifth of these rookies.

If you had followed our season long breakdown of the Anthony Miller 2017 season, you would know that hand consistency is certainly an issue.

The list includes D.J. Moore, and Calvin Ridley, who both topped the list with ratings of 77. Moore was the only receiver with better short route running abilities.

Third was Dante Pettis, who had a rating of 76. And fourth was Coutland Sutton, who had a rating of 75.

This is interesting to say at the least considering Anthony Miller was the sixth wide receiver drafted last season. The game seems to be rating him over Christian Kirk of the Arizona Cardinals.

This could be fair. Kirk is 21 years old. He was drafted on what he can be. Miller is going to be 24 when the season starts. The team drafting him has to feel a lot more comfortable in what they have in him than Kirk.

The same can be said for Moore and Ridley.  Yes, Moore was drafted higher and is likely the higher upside bet. However, they are rated the same. Ridley is 23 right now and D.J. Moore will turn 21 right before the start of the season.
