64. Tyler Bray

This ranking feels low. It feels a bit unfair to Tyler Bray, and to the value of the quarterback position. However, when you really think about it, what kind of value does Tyler Bray present?

He is going to be in sweats every Sunday. If he is not, the season is likely over. Bray is going to compete for himself, but there is no competition in camp. He is going to be the third-string quarterback, and nothing he would do this summer would bump him closer to number two.

The fact of the matter is that when watching his tape, it is clear as to why he is so entrenched as the number three quarterback. It is realistic to think that if Chase Daniel were to go down, the team would be looking for outside help at quarterback-a veteran type who can jump right in before starting Tyler Bray. That is how limited this team is in terms of reliance on him.

Still, it is clear that Tyler Bray is bright. Matt Nagy likes Tyler Bray a lot. He brings something during the week that Nagy respects. Bray is going to earn his paycheck and help the Chicago Bears in his own way. However, he will never truly be in a situation where his impact will be known and valued. There are going to be players who are released who have the potential to make a bigger impact.
