2. Sam Acho

This call might come back to bite me in the butt considering the names around him. Still Sam Acho starter in 12 games last season and played in 639 defensive snaps. That cannot be replicated in 2018, right? Right?

Aaron Lynch is the frontrunner to take that job and at least some of those starts and snaps. Still, he has injury issues in his past and left OTAs with a question mark. Not a great sign.

From there is Isaiah Irving, Kylie Fitts, and Kasim Edebali. We have a UDFA with one career start, a sixth-round pick with an injury history and a rotational linebacker who has bounced around the NFL. Like I said, this might bite me in the butt.

Still, give me the under on both starts and snaps for Acho. I am betting on Fitts and Irving. Irving flashed during his first and rose from the practice squad. He is in good shape this season and should be more prepared for an NFL season. As for Fitts, the talent is there. It would not be crazy to see him getting major snaps early into his career. If he stays healthy, Acho is a situational backup and special teams threat. Between four options, someone will cut into Acho’s play.
