Rashard Fant

Heading into the preseason there is absolutely no buzz surrounding Rashard Fant. So, in an effort to get you one deep cut, Fant has a chance to really make a name for himself as well. Fant is dueling for time in the slot. That is going to be tough sledding with Bryce Callahan and Cre’Von LeBlanc ahead of him.

However, it should be worth noting that Callahan is an unrestricted free agent and LeBlanc is a restricted free agent next season. It is not like the team is coming into the season with the utmost confidence in their slot cornerbacks.

Fant has the potential to be under team control the longest of the group. He is also a baller. While he is a bit undersized, he manned the outside well at Indiana. He plays fierce and competitive and breaks quickly on the ball. These are things that are needed to transition to the slot.

Fants’ competitiveness could show in camp and over the course of the preseason. At the very least, some more people should know the name Rashard Fant by the end of August.
