Who are five of the more underrated players on the roster heading into the 2018 season?

Heading into training camp everyone has a perception of some of their favorite players. They can tend to leave player over or underrated. Today, we are going to look at five of the more underrated players on the Chicago Bears roster. These players are not quite getting the respect they deserve.

5. Bryce Callahan

Bryce Callahan seems to be one of the more typical responses when asked who the most underrated player on the Chicago Bears is. Last season, he was a strong corner in terms of receptions per route run against him, and he received rave reviews by Pro Football Focus for his effort.

It was an excellent season in the slot for Bryce Callahan. Still, heading into free agency the Chicago Bears slapped a tender on him. Like Cameron Meredith, the team could have paid an extra million to give Callahan a second round tender, and received a second-round draft pick if another team signed Callahan. Instead, the Bears just had the chance to match any offer, and if they did not, they would lose him.

There was not a single offer reported to Callahan. He signed a cheap one-year deal at less than $2 million. He enters next season as a free agent. It would not be shocking to see Callahan and the Bears talk extension in training camp. Still, the market for Callahan being so dead is interesting, to say the least.
