Early reports out of training camp are that Kevin Toliver is taking advantage of his opportunity with the Chicago Bears
Every year there is a UDFA prospect in which Chicago Bears fans become obsessed with. They usually fall in love and fear that the team will cut him and he will catch on elsewhere. In most cases, the team releases him and he ends up on the practice squad. See Tanner Gentry and Daniel Braverman. However, this year with Kevin Toliver, it feels like he is the one in which Bears fans have their eyes on. It also feels as though he has a real chance of making the roster.
Toliver caught the eye of Matt Nagy at OTAs and has done it once again in the first weekend of training camp. Toliver has three interceptions already and has once again caught the eye of his head coach.
Nagy: “Anytime anybody has a turnover, they always flash, right?”

Well, we might just have to nickname UDFA Kevin Toliver ‘The Flash’ then, he’s had 3 INTs in two days at #BearsCamp.

Kevin Toliver just made and incredible interception after jumping the route. He was close a few plays prior.

Toliver is flashing in camp and could lead to him landing on the 53-man roster. Toliver is different than your typical UDFA. He is a former high-level recruit who went to LSU, a school known for high-end cornerbacks.

Toliver had issues that involved suspensions and injuries which is why he went undrafted. However, the talent is here. If Toliver has locked in with the influence of a contract to earn, he could be a huge steal for the Bears.
When looking at the Chicago Bears depth chart, they have a position battle for the backup outside cornerback spot. The Chicago Bears re-signed Marcus Cooper, who likely has a head start on the job. However, it would not be crazy to hear Toliver take that spot away from Cooper.
Toliver will have to show consistency, but three straight days is a great start. He is a player to follow throughout camp and into the Hall of Fame Game.
