What is there to watch for at the tight end position from the Chicago Bears?
All summer we have been waiting for Trey Burton, Dion Sims, and Adam Shaheen. However, on Thursday we are likely to get a heavy dose of Daniel Brown, Ben Braunecker, and Colin Thompson.
We all know that the Chicago Bears have talked about getting three tight ends on the field as much as possible. However, with just six on the roster, it will be interesting to see how they play this situation.
Still, expect as little as possible from Sims, Burton, and Shaheen. In Brown, Braunecker, and Thompson you do have similar players who matchup to these starters regarding their role. So, it will be interesting to see what the team shows from these three and if what they show fits the plan for that player.

For Brown, he would serve in as the Burton role. He can line up in all of the spots and is the best with the ball in his hands of the group. Braunecker is the big, red zone threat who can stretch the seam but also block. He would take the Adam Shaheen role. Thompson is known for his blocking ability and would slot into a Dion Sims role.
Even without Sims, Burton, and Shaheen seeing the field, could we get a look into how the Chicago Bears use their tight ends? It would be an excellent introduction into the potential usage of each player in Nagy’s offense. I will have my eyes on these three and will be visioning the three starters.
