Five Chicago Bears to watch in Preseason Week 2: Defense
Deiondre Hall
Hall has had a quiet offseason, which has been good for his case. From there he has had a noticeable preseason, which is even better. Deiondre Hall was a player who certainly came in on the roster bubble but probably has a chance to secure his roster status with another strong preseason performance.
Hall has been playing safety but does have cornerback experience. He entered camp behind Deon Bush and DeAndre Houston-Carson as a third team safety. However, the Chicago Bears could undoubtedly keep five corners, based on versatility and special teams prowess.

Speaking of his special team’s prowess, if he were to show well it could help the team ease away from Sherrick McManis, which opens up a secondary spot as well. There are paths to the roster for Hall, and he can open them on Saturday.
For Hall, you are looking for special teams. What units and how early is he on the field? On defense, can he sneak into the second unit for any snaps? Does he see any time at cornerback? He has shown well as a tackler, but if he were to make a play on the football, it would be another massive boost to his case.
Whether it be Grant, Hall, Toliver, Cooper or a few other names, they are all going to sort themselves out this week heading into a crucial week three.
