4. Michael Joseph

Michael Joseph had a strong preseason. He outproduced my expectations by a  long shot. Despite being undersized, he hung around on the outside and saw some snaps in the slot. His versatility has to be valued.

On top of that are his smarts and his ball skills. His ball skills did not show in the preseason but are why he was invited to the NFL combine despite going to Dubuque. The coaches have to have liked that area of his game in practice because he has gotten snaps in every preseason game.

From there, they have been able to see his smarts in game action. He is a smart zone cornerback who can pass off his man and make reads of the quarterback. Michael Joseph is undersized, and unathletic coming from a small school. The odds are stacked up against him, and he likely needs this full season on the practice squad. However, Bryce Callahan and Cre’Von LeBlanc were brought in as UDFA cornerbacks who worked up from the practice squad. We will see if Joseph can fit into that mold.
