We preview the Bears vs Seahawks Week Two matchup with 12th Man Rising.

Has everyone recovered from the stunning Week 1 defeat last week?  I’m still barely over it.  Just keep in mind that the guy in the green #12 jersey is pretty good too.  This young Bears team will learn how to close out games.  On to the next…

You can’t let one loss turn into two, so it’s up to rookie head coach Matt Nagy to get his team to learn from their Week One mistakes and rally for a critical Week Two matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.  It’s the home opener for the Bears and the first time Bears fans will get to see Mitch Trubisky on the Soldier Field turf in 2018, as the starters were held out of the Bears two home preseason games.  The Bears will honor new Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher during halftime, an appropriate and well-deserved honor as the new guard of Roquan Smith and Khalil Mack look on.

More from Chicago Bears News

Trubisky knows he’s got to improve on last week’s performance.  He left a lot of points on the field.  Hopefully Matt Nagy makes an improvement as well, learning to run the ball and not overthink things.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Bears could not have had much of a better first half, sparked by newly acquired Khalil Mack.  Mack was a one-man wrecking crew who had a sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, an interception and a touchdown IN THE FIRST HALF!  That’s a career for Shea McClellin!

You have to hope that Mack and the rest of the Bears get in better game shape and compete for four quarters this coming week.  I expect to see a lot more Roquan Smith compared to the eight snaps he got last week.  Now if Kyle Fuller can learn to catch, we might have something going.

For the Seahawks, they’re coming off a season-opening loss at the Denver Broncos.  The Legion of Boom has lost a lot of their boom.  Russell Wilson is still a dynamic playmaker, but the weapons around him aren’t quite the same, no disrespect to the aging Brandon Marshall.

To help us prepare for the Bears vs Seahawks and get a Seattle perspective on the Monday night matchup, we’ve enlisted the help of Lee Vowell of 12th Man Rising for a little Q&A.
