The Chicago Bears are in good shape to earn a victory tonight against the Seattle Seahawks, after the injury report surfaced, those chances increased.

The Chicago Bears opened as a three-point favorite in week two in Las Vegas when the lines were first announced. Their opponent, the Seattle Seahawks, appear to have some holes in their roster and Vegas thinks the Bears should be able to exploit them.

Those holes have increased as three key Seattle Seahawks: WR Doug Baldwin, LB Bobby Wagner and LB KJ Wright, have all been ruled out this week for Seattle. Vegas agrees, as that point spread has risen to 4.5 now.

The Baldwin injury hurts an offense that already is lacking weapons for Russell Wilson to utilize and Wagner and Wright will be sorely missed along Seattle’s front seven.

With those linebackers ruled out, that bodes well for Jordan Howard and the running game, as well as the efficiency of the overall offense.

The door is certainly open for a Bears’ victory. Chicago’s roster is better than Seattle’s at every position except quarterback. And while the quarterback position is obviously the most important, there is only so much that Wilson is going to be able to do by himself.

It’s also worth noting from a Bears’ perspective, the Bears lost to Green Bay by three points on the road, and the Minnesota Vikings, considered one of the elite teams in the NFL, tied the Packers on the road.

So while the result wasn’t what any fans want to see, the fact is that the Packers and Vikings look like two of the top five teams in the NFL and the Bears hung in with one of them on the road. That bodes well for the season.

A loss in week one is not a big deal for Chicago. However, a loss this week would be a deflating one for Bears’ fans. The Bears should be able to take down Seattle and even their record at 1-1 heading into another winnable game in week three against the Arizona Cardinals.

It starts tonight. Bear down, Bears’ fans!
