1. Pressure Ryan Fitzpatrick

In week three, in the first half, the Buccaneers were held to just 10 points but gave up 30 points, 24 of which the Pittsburgh Steelers scored in the second quarter. A big reason for this was the consistent pressure that Pittsburgh forced on Buccaneers quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

This Sunday, if the Chicago Bears want to have a chance at beating an offense that is ranked third in scoring, then the defense will need to pressure Ryan Fitzpatrick. If the Bears front seven can consistently pressure Ryan Fitzpatrick, then it will be easier for the secondary to stop any big plays that may occur downfield.

Fitzpatrick was sacked three times, and he threw three interceptions as well. By making Fitzpatrick uncomfortable all night, he was forced to make throws he didn’t like.

Considering Fitzpatrick is the key to success in the Buccaneers offense, the Bears will need to use a variety of looks to confuse him. This means that there will likely be times where the defense will need to have linebackers such as Roquan Smith blitz up the middle in an effort to get to the quarterback.
