Emergence of The Running Game

Chicago’s running game hasn’t been poor, in fact they rank 14th in total rushing this season. That puts the team right in the middle of the pack on the ground, but much of this production has been without huge contributions from featured back, Jordan Howard.

Tarik Cohen has become the team’s all-purpose weapon, generating 295 yards of total offense the last two contests. Conversely, Howard has 94 total yards in that span. After last Sunday’s utter debacle, both running backs have to be chomping at the bit to get back onto the field. Howard and Cohen will look to rectify their transgressions against a New England run defense that ranks 18th in the league.

Jordan Howard hasn’t had the breakout performance that I’m sure he’s yearning for. After fumbling on the goal line, there is no greater incentive for a standout performance. Cohen has played well but his turnover had to unsettle him, so he’ll be looking to only build off these strong performances.
