Chicago’s wide receivers didn’t have much of an impact against New England, thanks to Trubisky’s inaccuracy. Rookie Anthony Miller was targeted seven times, but only caught two balls for 35 yards. Taylor Gabriel snagged three of the four balls thrown his way for just 26 yards, while Josh Bellamy didn’t touch any of the four passes thrown his way, including one he lost in the sun on third down in the third quarter—on the ensuing play the Patriots returned a blocked punt for a touchdown.

Tight end Trey Burton was the only bright spot in the passing game, hauling in nine catches for 126 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Kevin White did catch a desperation Hail Mary pass for 54 yard as time expired, but came up one yard short of the end zone.
