The Chicago Bears vs Minnesota Vikings Week 11 game has been flexed into prime time.

If you have tickets for the Chicago Bears Week 11 game hosting the Minnesota Vikings, you might want to adjust your plans.  The game has been flexed into prime time and will be featured on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

The Bears vs Vikings game replaces the 5-2-1 Pittsburgh Steelers at the 3-5 Jacksonville Jaguars, a rematch of last season’s wild 45-42 AFC Divisional round matchup that propelled the upstart Jaguars into the AFC Championship game.  The Jaguars have struggled this season, so the matchup lost a little luster.  The Steelers at Jaguars game moves to a Noon Central kickoff.

Meanwhile, the Bears vs Vikings will be set up as a potential clash for first place and control of the NFC North.  The Bears currently lead the division with a 5-3 record while the 5-3-1 Vikings head to a BYE week.  Regardless of next week’s outcome against the Detroit Lions, the Week 11 matchup will feature the top two teams in the division as the Packers and Lions have both dropped below .500.

The Bears opened the season with back to back prime time games; the heartbreaking season-opening loss to the Packers at Lambeau Field followed by the Week 2 Monday Night Football win over the Seattle Seahawks.

Moving the Week 11 game back to a 7:20 Central kickoff makes a quick turnaround into Week 12’s Thanksgiving game at Detroit even shorter.  The advantage is the Bears have the Lions coming up this Sunday, so they should be well prepared for film study.  The key will be their health and recovery in the short week.
