Hot Take Tuesday: The Incoherent Rantings of a Belligerent Bears fan.

(Apologies for the delay)

Bwahahahahahahaha.

That’s me laughing at all the haters. This article has become a weekly “in your face, haters” article.

It’s a sad existence for some of these people. Perhaps it’s time some people start admitting they were wrong.

First to Mike Tanier, Bleacher Report’s NFL writer who claims that the only reason Mitch Trubisky’s TD totals are so high is because of all the screen passes and shovel pass TDs. Bwahahahaha, Tanier. Did you watch the game against the Lions? Did you see the dart Trubisky threw to Allen Robinson? Did you see the pass he made to Taylor Gabriel? It may have been incomplete but Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady couldn’t have thrown that ball better.

Next, to you Mike Lombardi. “The tape isn’t there.” That’s a direct quote from Lombardi about Trubisky. Bwahahaha, Lombardi. If the tape isn’t there, then I’d like to know what I watched on Sunday.

I haven’t forgotten about you, Bill Barnwell. Barnwell, in his piece about building blocks on each team, speculated that Trubisky wouldn’t be on the Bears after his third season. Yup, he doesn’t even think Trubisky is a lock to be on the team for the duration of his rookie contract. For that, I simply laugh. Bwahahaha, Barnwell.

If you’ll notice, all those chaps have been pretty darn quiet. The one that hasn’t been quiet is Pro Football Focus. They still think Trubisky is hot garbage. His season-long grade is still in the tank and they claim that he only has good stats because he’s “lucky.” Don’t believe me? Check out the video. They can’t be this stupid, can they?

Oh, they can. Their grades are law, people! God forbid they admit they are wrong. Can’t have that, because that would mean the unpaid teenagers they have running around grading all their game tape might not know what they are doing. PFF to you, Bwahahaha.

More from Bear Goggles On

Again, I’m not saying Trubisky is the next Steve Young. But can we admit that a second year quarterback who is going to throw for 4000+ yards and 30+ touchdowns while racking up all that yardage on the ground is a good thing? Something that shows promise, that shows a talented young QB, a QB that many teams had rated as the top QB in the draft that year, including QB guru Andy Reid? Stop the hate and let the kid develop.

Finally, to the Pace haters. Bwahahahahaha. I’ve noticed how many Pace haters have gone much quieter in the comments sections these days on my particles. Why’s that? Clinging to your Robbie Gould argument? Complaining about things Pace did 2 or 3 years ago that have no impact on this year’s team? There’s not much left to bash Pace for, is there? Almost like he knew what he was doing.

Defensive Domination

The Detroit Lions may have scored 22 points, but the defense demolished Matt Stafford and the Lions. Khalil Mack made one of the most awesome sacks I’ve seen in a long time. Due to NFL restrictions, I can’t embed the sack here, but you can click here to watch it- over and over again. That’s a thing of beauty. Again, as we get further and further away from that trade we realize that Pace acquired Mack for this year’s first round pick, then he upgraded a 6th round pick in 2019 to a 5th round pick in 2020 and downgraded what is going to be a pick in the mid to late 20s and in 2020 and received a pick that is going to be in the mid 30s. They got Mack for so little, it’s a joke. An absolute joke.

The Bears look like they are really clicking. This team could go on quite a run the second half of the season and they could, maybe, just maybe, be Super Bowl contenders this year if they keep putting it together.

Quick Hits

  • Allen Robinson with some fantastic catches. That’s the WR1 the Bears paid for.
  • Anthony Miller is for real. Think about how many weapons Trubisky will have at his disposal over the next few years. What if Javon Wims becomes something? Scary.
  • Adam Shaheen should be back this week!
  • Roquan Smith is proving that maybe Pace does know what he’s doing with first round picks.
  • Bryce Callahan is making basically a million dollars a week on his next contract at this rate.
  • Cody Parkey’s performance was gross. Could be a miss by Pace, but let’s see if Parkey can adjust to the Soldier Field winds and get this figured out. He’s got 1.5 seasons left in a Bears’ uniform at a minimum.
  • How many Pro Bowlers could the Bears have this year? Eddie Jackson? Kyle Fuller? Roquan Smith (give him time playing at this level)? Khalil Mack? Akiem Hicks? Trubsiky (it’s not as crazy as you think)?
  • Does everyone realize just what’s happening here?
