Previewing the crucial Week 11 Bears vs Vikings  matchup with The Viking Age

The 6-3 Chicago Bears host the 5-3-1 Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night in a Week 11 battle for first place in the NFC North.  The knock on each team has been that neither has that “signature” win because they haven’t beaten anyone with a winning record.  That changes Sunday night as someone will emerge victorious and in control of the NFC North.  It’s looking like a two-horse race down the stretch as both the Packers and Lions are below .500 and struggling.

For the Bears, this is probably a year ahead of schedule with rookie head coach Matt Nagy and second-year quarterback Mitch Trubisky steering a Bears offense that has taken a 180-degree turn over last season’s unit.

More from Bear Goggles On

Trubisky has a chance to come full circle Sunday night.  Last season, he made his debut against the Vikings in prime time, a game the Bears would lose 20-17.  Trubisky rallied the Bears to tie the game at 17, but a late interception led to a Vikings game-winning field goal.

2018 has been a different story for Trubisky and the Bears offense.  He’s surrounded by weapons and has been put in a quarterback-friendly system.  The Bears have already scored more points through nine games than they did in all of 2017.

For the defense, expectations were already high, but the addition of Khalil Mack raised the bar even higher.  Mack has proven to be the catalyst that has taken the defense from good to great.  The defense will have their hands full in their biggest challenge to date from a Vikings offense that is loaded with weapons and has a top-flight signal caller.

To help us gain some insight about the Vikings and preview this monster Sunday night showdown, we’ve enlisted the help of Adam Carlson from The Viking Age to answer some questions for us.
