Spread it around

Aside from the two-point play, Adam Shaheen was not involved in the offensive gameplan as a pass catcher. Everyone else was, though. Mitch Trubisky completed 20 passes and spread the ball out to eight different pass catchers.

Taylor Gabriel led the way with nine targets and seven receptions. He also was the only receiver to go over 50 yards. Allen Robinson followed with seven targets, but only three catches.

Then came Tarik Cohen with four targets and Anthony Miller and Josh Bellamy seeing three targets. Trey Burton, Ben Braunecker and Jordan Howard all caught passes as well. The gang was all here in the passing game.

It did not stop there, though. Six players all saw rushing attempts in this game. We all knew Mitch Trubisky, Tarik Cohen and Jordan Howard would be involved. However, Taylor Gabriel, Taquan Mizzell, and Anthony Miller also saw carries in this game.

The Bears ran the ball 39 times and threw 31. This is a team looking for balance in the run to pass and in their ability to spread the ball around and get everybody involved in the offense. This is what gets the offense flowing.
