Five notes from Chicago Bears statement win vs. Vikings
Cody Parkey
You cannot talk about this game without talking about the confidence of Cody Parkey. After doinking four kicks off of the uprights last week in historic fashion, all eyes were on how the kicker would bounce back.
After Parkey practiced at Soldier Field and was tracked by a chopper, he calmed the nerves of all Bears fans with a 3-3 night kick field goals. This includes the first kick of the game to give his team a lead.
It also meant hitting the last kick of the game to put his team up by more than two scores. Parkey hit his long of 48 and all three from over 40 on the night to solidify what was an excellent game for the kicker. All of the cut talk, all of the confidence talk, any discussion about Cody Parkey should be gone.
He had a bad day. Everybody does at some point. He showed that it was an anomaly by promptly bouncing back and not only hitting kicks but making them when they matter to put teams away.
