How did the Chicago Bears cornerbacks look in their week 11 victory over the Minnesota Vikings?

The Chicago Bears shut down the Minnesota Vikings. Of course, while the Vikings did not move the football well at all in this game, that started with shutting this team out on the ground. When they did move, they found success through the air.

A lot of that success came after the Bears took a 20-6 lead. However, it did count, and it was apart of why the team had to stay locked in until the very end for the win. With that in mind, the cornerbacks had some work to do. Who was being targeted and how did they fare?

We take a look in the cornerback report.

Kyle Fuller: 10-14, 89 yards

Season to date: 39-72, 545, Five Touchdowns, Four Interceptions 7.6 yards per target

Kyle Fuller had a rough start to his game. He was flagged for pass interference and gave up a quick reception. Then Stefon Diggs beat him deep on a double move. Fortunately, Kirk Cousins missed the pass, and Fuller was spared. From there, he was pretty shut down. He gave up ten receptions but his yards per target allowed went down and most of his receptions allowed were in the fourth quarter.

Prince Amukamara: 9-12, 88 yards, One Touchdown

Season to date: 32-54, 312 Two Touchdown, Two interception, 5.8 yards per target

Amukamara was targeted early into the game, and was having most of his issues with Stefon Diggs. He allowed the touchdown to Diggs. However, like Fuller, he settled in. Unlike Fuller, his three incompletions also came late into  this game.

Bryce Callahan 1-5, 11 yards

Season to date: 30-46 298 yards, three Interceptions, 6.5 yards per target

Bryce Callahan was elite in the slot. Adam Thielen had no success on him, and they forced him out of the slot to get him going in the passing game. That is a testament to what Callahan was doing in this game, as it was one of the more underrated performances.

Sherrick McManis Season to date: 7-10, 54 yards, One TD One Interception 5.4 yard per target
Kevin Toliver Season to date: 10-15, 137 yards, 9.1 yards per target

Safeties

Eddie Jackson had the pick six. Otherwise, the Vikings did not test him in coverage. This has to be a testament to the pass rush, as the Vikings never had time to get anything going deep.

Eddie Jackson: 0-1 INT

Season to date: 12-26, 159 yards, Two Touchdown, Two Interception, 6.1 yards per target

Adrian Amos was not tested as well. This again speaks more to the pass rush, but Amos, like Jackson made a heads up play to turn the football over.

Adrian Amos: 1-2, 11 yards INT

Season to date: 16-26 154 yards, Two Interception 5.9 yards per target

Deon Bush Season to date 1-1, 6 yards
DeAndre Houston Carson Season to date: 0-1

Linebackers

Roquan Smith was targeted often, but was limiting everything after the catch. He had another strong day in coverage.

Roquan Smith: 5-8, 58 yards

Season to date: 37-56, 306 yards, Two Touchdown, 5.5 yards per target

Trevathan blew up a pass in the backfield for a five yard loss. He read it fro the snap and followed Dalvin Cook step for step. He gave up two small incompletions, but the big play boosts his stats.

Danny Trevathan: 3-3, 3 yards

Season to Date: 24-31, 270 yard, Four Touchdown, One Interception 8.7 yards per target

Khalil Mack 0-1

Leonard Floyd Season to date: 7-9 51 yards, 5.7 yards per target  One touchdown, One interception
Nick Kwiatkoski: 1-2, 11 yards
Season to Date: 6-7, 60 yards
Joel Iyiegbuniwe: 1-1 6 yards
Season to Date: 1-2 5 yards INT
Aaron Lynch: 1-2, six yards, 1 INT
