With the third pick, the Chicago Bears select safety Jamal Adams.

The Bears select Adams with the third overall pick. Adams instantly helps solidify a secondary that was shaky in 2016. His presence will be a good one for the defense. He’s confident, he wants to lead by example and by his words and he will be a great piece for Vic Fangio to use.

It’s clear after the first couple of seasons that Ryan Pace wants to build up the defense and this seems like a smart move for the Bears to make. If the Bears can put together a strong defensive unit, they should be able to take pressure off the Mike Glennon-led offense until they have a good young quarterback to take over under center.
