8. Eddie Goldman

Eddie Goldman is on the field for 52% of the team’s snaps, just over half. However, his impact is felt when he is on the field. Goldman has a sack, three tackles for loss and a quarterback hit. Goldman is playing more on pass rushing situations, and that shows in his quarterback hit and sack.

However, his most significant impact comes against the run. When Goldman is on the field, the Bears are elite against the run. They allow 2.8 yards per carry, 38% success rate and 0.8% explosive run rate with him on the field. Without him, they allow 4.4 yards per carry, a 40% success rate and a 4.3% explosive run rate.

It is clear that he has a role on this team and that he does it well. The Bears extended Goldman this offseason with that intention in mind, and he has rewarded them so far with stellar play in 2018.
