Eddie Jackson wins the NFC’s Defensive Player of the Month Award.
Khalil Mack might be the most impactful defender on the Chicago Bears, but according to the NFL, nobody is player better defense right now than safety Eddie Jackson.
Jackson’s name has been floating more and more around the words “Pro Bowl” and even “All-Pro” and that shouldn’t surprise anyone.
Jackson had a month that included two interceptions, four passes defended and three, that’s right three, touchdowns.
After a month like that, a tweet like this isn’t too surprising.

The Bears have now won the award two out of the first three months of the season. Khalil Mack won the award in September, and Aaron Donald took home the prize in October.

With a month to go in the season and plenty of impact players on the roster, it wouldn’t be surprising to see another Bear win the award in December. Mack could easily win it again, heck, if Jackson keeps it up, he could too. Akiem Hicks is always a threat to string together some excellent games, and the way Roquan Smith has improved over the last month, he could even be in the mix if he continues and makes some splashy plays.
Jackson’s play just continues to affirm what everyone has seen that has watched this Bears’ defensive unit all season: this is an elite squad.
The Bears’ defense has had two impressive performances on national television the last two games and with a game coming up against a New York Giants squad ripe for abuse and another national game against a high-powered offense in the LA Rams the following week, this defense could make it crystal clear to the entire league that they are the best defense in football, bar none.
