The Chicago Bears take a five-game winning streak to the Big Apple to face the 3-8 New York Giants.  We preview the game with GMen HQ.

The Chicago Bears are riding high heading out east to face the New York Giants.  The Bears are winners of five straight and coming off a “mini-bye” since they haven’t played since their Thanksgiving Day win over the Detroit Lions.

Despite the Giants 3-8 record, this game will not be easy for the Beloved Bears.  It looks like they’ll be starting their second straight game without Mitch Trubisky under center.  Trubisky, who injured his shoulder while scrambling late in the Bears 25-20 win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11.  Backup quarterback Chase Daniel filled in admirably in Trubisky’s absence vs the Detroit Lions.  Does he have another strong performance up his sleeve?

On the defensive side of the ball, things are really starting to click for Vic Fangio’s unit.  Khalil Mack seems to have returned to full strength after missing a couple of games with an ankle injury.  The secondary is really starting to play opportunistic football as Kyle Fuller is tied for the league lead in interceptions while Eddie Jackson is ballhawking and scoring touchdowns.

The Giants pose some interesting challenges.  Eli Manning is having a down year and his days in New York could be numbered, but he’s got plenty of experience to try to counter whatever the Bears defense throws at him.  Saquon Barkley is a beast and a threat to take the ball to the house on any play.  Of course, Odell Beckham is always a nightmare for opposing cornerbacks, so he could make Prince Amukamara’s homecoming a difficult one.

To help us get some insight “behind enemy lines” we’ve reached out to our FanSided counterparts over at GMen HQ to preview the game.  Curt Macysyn was kind enough to spend a few minutes answering our questions.
