Sean McVay forgot to mention Eddie Goldman when listing off the Chicago Bears defense. Eddie Goldman was here to remi

nd him

For some reason the internet went nuts over Sean McVay being able to name 11 players on the Chicago Bears defense. Even his defensive coordinator laughed at the medias fascination with a head coach knowing the opponents names.

Yes, Sean McVay is a stellar coach. No, being able to name the Bears starters on defense is not a representation of that. With that said, when the video went viral it was stunning. First off, why? Second, he did not even name all of the starters.

He left off an underrated piece. Quite obvious by McVay missing out on him, Eddie Goldman is the most underrated player on the Chicago Bears defense. Trust me, players saw that video. It went viral. ESPN picked it up. Other coaches and beat writers were all talking about it.

You know who else watched that video? Eddie Goldman.

Eddie Goldman heard Sean McVay go straight from Akiem Hicks to Leonard Floyd, Aaron Lynch and Khalil Mack.

So, Eddie Goldman made sure that Sean McVay will remember Eddie Goldman moving forward. Goldman started the second half with a safety with the game tied 6-6. The big play gave the Bears a lead that they never looked back from.

The Bears got the ball off of the safety and marched down the field. The putt he football in the end zone and walked away with a 15-6 lead from the sequence started by Eddie Goldman.

So for as impressive as the scouting report was by McVay, it missed the player who single handedly swung the game. Nice job by Eddie Goldman more making the young genius remember his name.
