Matt Nagy

Last, but certainly not least comes the coach of the Chicago Bears. With ten wins and two games to go, it is going to be tough to top Matt Nagy as the coach of the year.

He has the low expectations coming into the season. While he drafted a bit higher than the Colts, they do have the lower win total. Their win total is the lowest of any of these coaches mentioned.

On top of that, he is the only one of this group who does not have a quarterback at least getting some MVP talk. Even if Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson are not, they are much more prominent than Mitch Trubisky.

The counter to Nagy is his defense. Khalil Mack is his Luck and Wilson. On top of that, Vic Fangio controls the defense. Nagy does not have too much of a hand in that.

While that has to factor into it, so does his offensive game plan. Whether you like him or not, Mitch Trubisky has developed and taken steps forward this season. His head coach puts his quarterback in good spots to win. Despite being defensive heavy, his team has scored 40 twice and 30 four times.

His team exceeded expectations the most. They are going to make the playoffs. They have a first-year coach who is an offensive mind and has the offense humming, despite not firing on all cylinders yet.

It is going to be tough to make the case against Matt Nagy, even despite the other four candidates being excellent choices in their own right.
